May 2006 meeting:

Our May meeting was held at Emerald Bay Fish & Reptiles. A few club members, along with Sean from Emerald Bay met up at Cancun Mexican Restaurant for dinner, drinks and conversation.

Following dinner we all walked down to Emerald Bay. For those of you who have never been, their facility is great. They have several tanks set up on display in the middle of the floor, surrounded by tanks along the walls. Their selection of corals is, by far, the best I've seen in Nashville. Not to mention the octopus and the cuttle fish...awesome creatures.

Sean informed us of a few hitchhikers to look for in our tanks, especially those of us who have just received a shipment of live rock.

A raffle was held shortly after the hitchhiker presentation. Choices of prizes consisted of a frag of pink bird's nest, hydnopora, or some really cool Emerald Bay apparel for those with fully stocked tanks. Each member also received some fish food, and 25% off almost everything in the store.

Mimi Ausmanas had for sale, some zoo's, xenia, and mushroom frags from her tank. Thanks Mimi!

All in all, we had a good turn-out, and a whole 'lotta fun.

A VERY BIG 'THANKS' goes out to the Emerald Bay guys for the education, freebies, discounts and a great time! Can't wait 'til the next EBay meeting!
